works of fire

If you know me well, then you probably already know how much I love all things with "explosive" warning labels on them. Anything from fireworks, to firepits to electrical wires that explode when you cut them with your arts-and-craft scissor in an attempt to remove a lighting fixture (funny story....). Yep, I love explosions THAT much and clearly, I am not afraid of them.

This past 4th of July, under much safer circumstances than described above, I witnessed one of the best fireworks shows at the "Lake Front" in Columbia, Maryland. Thanks to the natural saaviness of one mother, early in the day a blanket was placed on a prime patch of grass right beneath where the fireworks would explode. Surprisingly enough, the blanket was still there 9 hours later when we arrived. There was nothing left to say other than "God bless America and its good citizens."
